Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary

Today Chelsea, Gordon, and I went to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary! We are all season pass holders and friends of the koalas now.  At Lone Pine they do not just have koalas but lots of other animals too. We watched a birds of prey show, scales and tales presentation, a platypus feeding, I got to get my picture with the koala and we all fed kangaroos and wombats. The kangaroos were happy to take the food, which they eat right out of our hands but the wombats were more hesitant but Chelsea ended up feeding one of them some kind of greenery and it seemed to enjoy that. When I got to hold a koala, her name was Violet, and her fur was not soft, which what I was expecting, but it was sort of rough, like wool. We all pet a snake and it was not slimy, though I was half expecting it to be but it was dry and scale like feeling.  Mom, you would really like it here because there are lots of facts and information to read. A lot of the animals were sleeping most of the time when we were there because we where there mid day, which is napping time for a lot of the animals. We were there for when the koala’s got new eucalyptus leaves so the koalas were rather lively! We also saw dingos, a bunch of different types of snakes, lizards, crocodiles, birds and tasmanian devils (which look nothing like the cartoon).
